So, today, just barely 10 weeks after my car accident, I was at work and my manager (also known as close friend and roommate) called 2 hours after I should have been off duty to tell me that she was late because she'd been in a car accident. As much pain as I'm still in, and as paranoid as I am, this kinda threw me. I went to get them from the scene of the accident, then covered the store 'til more help came in. Since then, we've drivin on treacherous roads to get to Urgent Care, then to get meds, and a few of our friends are at the ER still... it's so scary! But I just wanted to share this because it's important to me..... DRIVE SAFELY! Whether it's icy where you are or not, be careful... accidents happen every day, and they're life changing. I just don't want any of you to get hurt as well..... Take care.....

Slick roads and bridges caused 100 accidents on one highway here in West Virgina yesterday. Mostly church traffic I think, being Sunday morning.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

Four wheel drive won't do you any good if you don't know how to use it.

I can't tell you how many times my father has seen idiots race off in a snow storm in their SUVs and Jeeps because they think they can hack it because they have four wheel drive. 5 minutes later, you'd see them lined up in a ditch.

Oh, come on, it's a joke ... haven't you ever seen GoldenEye? "I'm inwincible!" Sheeesh ...

The key to driving in bad weather, is to realize that despite the fact that you may have better traction ...

a) your brakes don't work any better or faster, sometimes worse and slower

and ...

b) better traction isn't going to keep you from hitting that idiot in his $80,000 Viper who just lost control and is spinning across the road directly at you ...
