That's just regular spam, not Melissa. I get that message regularly, or at least I would if it didn't die via my mail filters.

I've never seen regular spam to be proceded with re:
this hints at being forwared to me, which is what the Melissa virus does or did.
I don't use this account to send anyone mail, so no one was replying to something I sent them.

Spammers put the "Re:" in all the time to make you think it's a real message.

I get that all the time in my hotmail accounts as well... Besides, it's far too short to have the attachment.

Wait, I thought you couldn't catch a virus from an e-mail, only from a e-mail attachment. Can youcatch virus' now just by READING e-mails?

*also has a HOTMAIL addy that he never checks on*

No, you cannot catch a virus by simply reading email. The mellisa virus is a macro virus embedded in 'the importand document you requested' or whatever, which is a .doc file. I'm not sure about this, but I believe that Microsoft Outlook (not Outlook Express) has some stupid setting which automatically displays .doc email attachments. The 'virus' then proceeds to to email itself to everyone in your address book. This only affects Outlook users, mostly damaging corporate mail servers with ding-dong network admins.

Of course, about 10% of my customers have managed to get infected with happy99....*L*
