The Step Pyramid. Though I think some scholars have traced the whole mustard thing back to him, also... :-)

Henry VIII. And there's no such person as Thomas à Becket, despite the claims to the contrary. There was a Thomas Becket, sure, but not that other guy.

I couldn't be certain, but it sure sounds like Monet.

Um... I assume "Caesar" means Julius, right? This one's tricky. I'm not sure if they killed him before he got the chance to decalre himself emperor, or not. If they did, it was Octavian. Otherwise, it was Julius.

Well, now. My world history isn't as good as my US history...
1: Guess: the step pyramid
2: Henry VIII created the church of England when he wanted a divorce from "The Spanish Cow" Catherine of Aragon.
3: Oy, no clue. C?
4: And there was much rejoicing... the Renaisance
5: Poorly worded answers. Caesar was effectively a title, although Julius Caesar is usually who you think of when you hear Caesar. But the first emperor was Octavian (Agustus) Caesar.
6: Adultery (God bless the TLC Great Books festival! )
7: I'd have to say Spain, even though I have no idea what you're talking about...
8: That'd be the first known written code of laws.

Well, the rare species "crazed right-wing lunatic" wasn't recorded well until recently, when the media started using them as an example of what ALL conservatives are like. You might have trouble finding records going back more than a few decades.

I am severely tempted to do an early They Might Be Giants history quiz. What was the name of the band John Linnell played in prior to TMBG? What musical style would they fall under? What did John Flansburgh show John Linnell in high school because he thought he (Linnell) would get it? What is the name and rank of J. Flansburgh's Civil War era ancestor, who has appeared, sort of, in TMBG music videos? For extra credit, briefly outline the careers of James K. Polk or James Ensor.
Unfortunately, I sincerely doubt it would be very popular. Still, don't answer these questions yet, and perhaps I'll try at some future date.
