So last week I theorized the Charon was built around a star. We find out this week that the “star” is actually a doodad that lets the ship draw power from the magic space fungus network.

And this one ship drawing too much power will doom all life in all universes? Okay, Discovery, stop it with trying to make the magic space fungus so important.

The Lorcas switched places the same way Kirk and Co. did. Still no confirmation on what happened to Prime Lorca.

And am I the only one that doubts Mirror Lorca is actually dead?

Michelle Yeoh is awesome. Good to see she’s sticking around a bit; did not expect her to get rescued.

The Discovery gets home, but nine months into the future. The Klingons seem to have won the war by this point. And with Stamets’ garden dead and their existing stores depleted by destroying the Charon, the ship’s spore drive is worthless for the moment.

Prime Lorca probably died when the Klingons killed Buran.

Jason Isaacs has said himself on Twitter Lorca is "dead dead".

Anyone wanna try & convince me DSC is still set in the prime universe? I know what production staff says, but I know there weren't no Klingon war with 20% of Federation space occupied in 2257.

I predict that they're going back in time somehow but before the point Discovery ventured into the MU, thus bringing Lorca back.

I think it really comes down to how you want to explain the discrepancies between Discovery and early TOS: In-universe or out-of-universe.

I prefer the out-of-universe explanation: That the showrunners believe their own artistic vision for Star Trek trumps continuity.

Time may prove one of us correct.

Then again, it may not.

In the meantime, agree to disagree?

I got this feeling this is gonna end up like "Star Trek: Sliders" with a touch of "Quantum Leap"–jumping from universe to universe, trying to set things "right" for themselves until they finally end up in our classic TOS 'verse.

If Discovery does start borrowing themes from Quantum Leap, then I will be bitterly disappointed if they don’t cross paths with Jonathan Archer somewhere along the way. [Big Grin]

I need to stop being surprised that they find ways to keep or bring back Georgiou. Not that I’m complaining with such an excellent actor. I’m very curious to see how Emperor Georgiou will react to Acting Captain Saru. He will be the biggest embodiment of the difference between Terran and Federation values, and he may end up having to give her orders somewhere along the way.

Indeed. I’ve been giving no small amount of thought as to how I would do a Discovery-themed Series ? Episode, and one of the easy choices was having everyone try to eat poor Saru. [Big Grin]

Dear god, that would be too perfect.
