I normally hate these sort of things but I got goosebumps from just watching this.

Now, see, the people that make these sorts of things should be the ones making the real deals.

Nice work. I ended up on the 'rabbit trail' and ran across THIS nice video of the production. God I really do miss models. I need to go finish my BoP.

Oh wow! The Reliant was meant to have its engines above the dish but they ended up below due to a presentation orientation error? That is just so cool! [Big Grin]

I like the trailer ... but I think it might be a bit "spoiler-ey" if you haven't seen the movie. Also, I notice there are no scenes of the starships attacking each other, which I felt could have been beneficial as cuts towards the end of the trailer.

^But wouldn't that be even more spoilery?

A good trailer should set up the characters (Kirk/Spock/Khan), the mcguffin (genesis), the basic premise of the film (Khan hates Kirk and is out to get him) and a general feel of the film's tone an pacing. It may be exaggerating a bit on that last one, but by and large it plays fair.

Really though, there's only one or two plot twists in the whole film and none of them are spoilt here. Most of what you probably think of as spoilers probably wouldn't mean anything out of context to anyone who hasn't already seen it...and let's be honest, this trailer was most assuredly made for those who know the film *very* well. ;-)

What surprise does it ruin? The trailer clearly shows Khan in a Starfleet uniform on a Starfleet bridge.

So it's Teen Wrath of Kahn?
With no subtext of middle-aged regret, family, old friends or decades-old grudges?

Shit, the youtube clip-movie bashers could pull that off.

I'm left with the prospect of not bothering witha Trek movie for the first time since I first saw TWOK on HBO when it first hit cable.

It's three minutes with ALL the best parts of the film! I feel it could have been tighter. I feel they should have focuses on one part of the story. I'm not saying they should cut those parts out of the movie, just out of the trailer.
