The second episode of Star Trek: Discovery should be released on CBS's streaming service on Sunday, September 24. Spoilers for the first two episodes only, please.

I think this episode featured more Starfleet vessels than the entire run of TOS. ;-)

Too bad we didn't get a better look. The space scenes were either too chaotic or too close up.

From the closed cap:
USS Clarke
USS Shran
USS T'Plana Hath
USS Kerala
USS Sue
USS Rye
USS Earhart
USS Dana
USS Edison
USS Yeager
USS Europa NCC-1648

And they all looked better than the Discovery. [Wink]

I believe it is the USS Sioux and the USS Ride (after Sally Ride - would make a nice couple with the USS Earhart).

Too bad we don't get registries for them or a class name...

Did you noticed:

We've got Nebula-class-style, NX-class-style, Stargazerr-class-style and Centaur/Reliant-class-style starships, or at least the pre-TOS version of it.

The Shenzhou was a Walker-class starship. This was known beforehand from insider sources, but also established in the episode as the dedication plaque was quite visible in one shot.

The court martial at the end of the episode was a bit ridiculous with all the judges in the shadows.

And it kind of bothers me that they can't keep their ranks straight, not even for their main characters. It's Tuvok all over again. Saru was first addressed as Lieutenant while wearing a Lt. Cmdr. pin. And later they refered to him as Lt. Cmdr. while actually wearing a Lt. JG pin.

I say they demoted him between the scenes for being such a negative influence on shipboard morale. By next week he'll be Ensign Runaway! [Wink]

Yeah, TrekBBS is full of some real cockfaces. I shared my project over there & all they focused on was my statement that I wouldn't let anyone alter my timeline layout; for that, they called me "Dixonesque".

I screengrabbed a couple of shots of the fleet, each ship present looks to be of a different class. None of them seem familiar, but as others have said there are clear Nebula and Constellation configurations present. In the forward shot where they're all coming out of warp, in the top right it looks like there's a ship that could be another of USS Europa's class, but we know the Europa wouldn't arrive until later; it makes sense they'd re-use the design file after all. Chances are closer examination will reveal other class duplications, but it could be we're seeing as many as six new shoip designs. First Contact? Amateurs in comparisong with their poxy four designs!

Something I forgot to mention: life imprisonment for mutiny is extremely excessive. At most, it should be 10 to 20 given the circumstances.

Especially since she pled guilty. But then she did start an interstellar war, so who knows?
