Minds out of the gutter, please...

Anyway, I was thinking we should co-opt the time-honored workplace practice of guessing a new baby's delivery date & time and weight for the expectant new delivery coming from proud parents Eaves, Drexler and Zimmerman. Thus far, all we have is:

quote:
When asked about the design of the new (old?) Enterprise, John said it was smaller then Kirk's, but that they're still working on it, so the exact size hasn't been established.

So, the simple proposition I put out to all of you is guess the Enterprise-(-A)'s length. The contest will be open to submissions until such a time as we see the ship or otherwise gain access to information that makes guessing the length any easier. A winner will be announced once we get official word of the correct value, which will hopefully come from official channels and not by scaling windows off grainy vidcaps.

One guess per person, and no post editing. Guesses should be whole numbers, in meters, and a discrete value rather than a range. And don't repeat the exact same number as someone else.

Closest wins. In event of a tie, the two people will split the prize. The prize is nothing, thus facilitating easy splitting.

Finally, for reference's sake, Kirk's Enterprise (pre-refit) was 289m long.

Place your bets.

Since it will most likely be a CGI model....I'll take 12 cm, or the casual length across a normal CD disc capable of holding the model

As for me, I'm staking 235m.

How did I know Frank would go with what he did...

I think they will be making the ship as large as possible to get in some nice goodies to play with in next episodes. So I'm going for about 250 meters as well.

152,40m.

Yeah right.. this is why I guess that some time during the first season, one of those VFX guys will come up with a canon length of "uhm.. 500 feet".

Well I reckon anything above 289m, cause we all know that they're going to totally fuck 'history' up and Of course, they wouldn't know the 'real' length of Kirk's Enterprise.

Hey, wouldn't the Enterprise-(-A) be the Enterprise+A?

Anyhoo, I'll pitch my bid in for 190 metres.
