Can I just ask about this pic. It doesn't look 'right' - never has. OK we've all agreed it's a Niagra. Why, though does it look all skew-iff in that scene... the nacelles don't line up with the saucer. The Saucer looks like it's been ripped off and has floated free/wierd angle. Can anyone explain? Things don't line up nicely.

To me, it looks weird for a few reasons. One, the lighting is off and there are weird shadows all over the place. Second, the starboard nacelle has been ripped off, or at least horribly bent, and is now almost directly above the top of the engineering section.

I don't know what you mean about the saucer looking like it has been ripped off... but if it does to you, it's probably due to the angle the nacelle is at.

I always used to think that this was a three-nacelled ship, with the starboard nacelle gone, because of the weird angles.

It is a three nacelled ship. The third nacelle is on the bottom of the secondary hull.

In the pic, the port nacelle looks farther out from the secondary hull than in the schematics I've seen.

Yes it's the nacelles - they are all out of alignment - and even looking past the missing bussard collector - they nacelles/secondary hull doesn't line-up with the 'raised structures' on the primary hull. Like the whole thing has been twisted. (Or as I mentioned the saucer has come loose/off and has floated around) probably just a twist though.

The upper starboard nacelle has been damaged. As I put in in the analysis:

... the fact that this Niagara appears to have its third nacelle mounted in a dorsal position is in fact a visual deception. It is the starboard nacelle's pylon which has deformed and twisted due to damage inflicted in combat, and has been bent approximately 45 degrees upwards and round. You can also see that the port nacelle's bussard collector is clearly missing, that's apparent on the physical model as well.

In the one cap above, it looks like the port nacelle is slightly twisted....

Yeah - as if you grabbed the nacelle with your left hand and twisted it... clockwise a couple of degrees.

This makes sense now - everything was bent.

NOW look at the cap though - some schematic changes might have to be made?? The 'rectangular' upper decks seem to have 'rims' i.e. where shadows are cast, and a row of windows along the circumference of the saucer.

The physical model doesn't seem to reflect the shadows that appear on the screen-grab. So how would those 'rim' like shadows appear on the upper deck platforms on top of the saucer?

And reguards the CGI schematic... I reckon the nacelle pylons might be a little too thin compared to here: http://www.trekmania.net/the_fleet/utopia/princeton-model3.jpg

And on the Firebrand schematics... under the saucer near the captain's yacht area they have that wierd rounded square shape. I think that's wrong - if you look on this pic, the thing in that area just looks to be round... possibly the round 'cap' in that area from the Ambassador Class.

Oh and the Princeton CGI model doesn't have the two square arboretum windows at the back of the saucer section.
