Definitely cool. But as soon as the government realizes it might be used to produce cars that don't need gasoline to run, all scientists involved in the project will no doubt disappear.

Or they'll be required to make the material 350 pounds per foot, so they can build "gas efficent" Hummers from it.

Mabye they can make slightly luminicent cars for better road visibility...

Really, there is a lot we could do with photo-sensitive nanotech- like painting someone's face with a mm thin transparant layer of video cameras.
