Just ran acroos THIS and had a jaw-dropping moment. I wish I could sit and do my own models and videos. The real fun begins at the 8:20 mark of the video.

Probert seems a victim of [i]Just For Men[i]'s marketing department, the bit where they stalked some senior citizen through a parking garage I skipped and the animated ships part was pretty cool except the stupod super-manuveravle TOS shuttle.
Talk about revising history!

Nice vid...and yes, Deg really speaks like that.

It's quite....amusing.

Anyway, I've got everything scaled correctly in LW if anyone is interested in having shots rendered with some sort of comparison let me know. I've even got the legendary lost Norway class somewhere (and what a pile of excrement it is).

o.O i like the Norway... its wasnt a gun boat by any stretch. in fact, i think the SFC3 fluff about it was that it was more a diplo-boat than combatant. makes sence since it is tiny compared to anything else...

MattC, I think I speak for everyone at Flare when I say that we'd all love it of you posted a comparison shot of the Lightwave renders, and especially the Norway if you have it (I'm dying to see if the Fact Files' rendition of the ship's underside is accurate).

Probably pure conjecture. The underside of the FI/ILM hasn't got detail to speak of. Just a big ugly mess.

Really? When I looked at this screencap:

http://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/firstcontacthd/firstcontacthd0261.jpg

And compared it to the FF diagram:

http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/factfiles/norway-5views.jpg

They look kinda similar? I know it's not the easiest thing to make out, but I can sort of see some resemblances of certain shapes.

I have the impression that the schematics are quit usefull - you can almost see the reg and the yellow arrow on the underside of the Norway in this STFC picuture!

Yeah, those were some of the characteristics I noticed too. I guess we'll just wait until Matt posts the mesh to get the final verdict.

Or I could Photoshop up the contrast and show that for once the Fact Files seems to be right.
It's crappy looking, but looks accurate.

I dunno...now that I look at the contrasted pic, something seems...off. They do kinda match, but some of the angles for those dark sections just don't seem to be lined up as tidy as the FF diagram suggests. Maybe it's just the angle of the ship in that shot.

I'd like to wait until Matt shows us what he has before making any judgments...

Don't let that screen shot fool you, it's just a blobs of colour, no real detail to speak of. IIRC, it's copied from bits of the defiant textures.
