I don't think so. The whole point of the Akira is its unusual design. The components that make it up would look horrible in any other configration. I mean, what do you do with the deflector? If it stays under the saucer, what goes in front of the secondary hull?

I have considered doing a Miranda-ised Akira, but my ideas on that have moved off in another direction. I'm not really interested in doing Cut'n'Paste ships anymore, except as a starting point. I did the Crusader using Ambassador components because I like the individual parts of the ship and they suited the new configuration I had in mind. Maybe I'll repost this one too. . . 8)

I agree. Enterprizing the Akira is not a good idea. The bulky nacelles won't look very elegant and there is no suited engineering hull.

Does anybody else out there collect the Star Trek Micromachines? I do, and was somewhat miffed when they stopped putting them out just after the Enterprise-E. I wanted an Akira!

So, handy customizer that I am, I made one. Using parts from an Excelsior and a Miranda, I cut, sawed, glued and painted until I had a pretty good Akira. They pylons aren't exactly even but they are close, and Micromachines are often a bit "bendy" anyway.

Gotta get around to taking a pic of it so I can show you guys.

I also managed to create a swing-wing BoP Micro Machine, just by bending the wings a lot.

Gotta be careful doing that, or you'll create a "jettisonable-wing" BoP.

Actually, one of the wings did begin to crack, so I stopped bending them...

Same thing happened to me. My Reliant nacelles came off after a while, so I was able to take off the rollbar after that.

Hey you know while we're on the subject of Micromachines...

Sometimes they come malformed or bent in the box, or get that way after being left in a warm place. But I found a way to fix 'em!

First you boil some water. Drop in the Micromachine. It becomes all soft and bendy. Now bend it into the proper shape and place it into the freezer with some support so it doesn't just go "limp". Voila! Take it out after an hour or so. Warning: It is now very brittle until it warms up, so be careful!
