Hi all,

I'm working on a Nebula-ized Constitution-class and was wondering if anyone else ever tried/did this.

Er. . . I suppose I'd better tell him. A Nebula is a Miranda-ised Galaxy, so-called because it shares a similar configuration to the Miranda-class, which used Constitution components.

Sooooo. . . might it just be a teensy little waste of time? 8)

(and yes, I know the Nebula pre-dates the Galaxy)

Not really a waste. I succesfully made a Nebulaized Constitution, the Swift class. The nacelles are placed on their side, instead of donw, like on a Miranda, and it has the large pod on two struts

The359,

That is what I'm doing. On mine (which I will call the Bulldog-class) has the nacelles down (like a Miranda) and a pod on one strut. The strut is based on the neck from the Constitution-class (I'm too lazy do come up with something new on that front).

Oh and I might add, I'm doing this in plastic, not on paper. Yes ladies and gentlemen, my Bulldog-class is being built as a model.

So, the only difference between Nebulaizing and Mirandaizing is whether the pod is on a strut or a rollbar...? :-)

Well, you know come to think of it...

While the Nebula is obviously a descendant of the Miranda... there are some important differences.

The Nebula style DOES have a secondary hull, it is just tucked directly under the saucer.

The Nebula also does not have an elongated primary hull (i.e., saucer) like the Miranda.

So a "Nebulized" constitution could be interesting to see...

Well, in common usage (at leats that I've seen), a Miranda-style ship is any ship that has the components of a traditional-design ship, but w/ the nacelles slung under. More specifically, the Miranda, Centaur, Nebula, and the proposed Endeavour from FC (or, actually, not from FC...).

Erm... It was called the Endeavour, wasn't it...?

Actually, it was called the Endevor, I think.

Endeavour, Endevor? What are you talking about? Another kitbashed design?

The Endeavour was a Nebula-ised Sovereign due to appear in FC - it was to be the Admiral's ship which was destroyed. But it was shelved when they needed to have the Defiant appear to get Worf in the film.

Long before this was revealed, I designed the Monarch-class, a ship with a similar concept. . . two pics exist, my original and one that Vorleychops did with better nacelle details. I don't have either loaded on my webspace, though. They were on Jim Stevenson's page. . . I'll upload them tonight if anyone's interested (he said hopefully). 8)
