No, not with the designs here. I love most of them.
I'm fed up with not being able to post my own. (Yes, I know, you're all tired of hearing me bewail my lack of a scanner.)

So, I have to do something! (No, I still can't afford a scanner.) I've gathered a few pencil sketches of what I consider to be my better attempts, and am now searching for someone to SNAIL MAIL them to who would be willing to scan them. I'm even thinking about giving away partial "rights" to them and to modify them to the poster, just to get the damned things posted. Just don't change the names.

Nominations?

I know the problem. I have lots of ideas in the form of hand-drawn pictures, I just don't have a scanner. AND I'm not a photoshop/paintshop pro expert. I don't even know how to use layers....
The only thing I can think of is kitbashing existing pictures, but that has very limited options. The results are just not what you want them to be (like my Akira kitbash) .

I feel your pain. I have at least 200 mediocre designs on paper, but no way to draw them in MSPaint or scan them or what not. Of course, I don't exactly want to take my pictures and send them through the mail (ripping out of notebooks and folding and such). Anyone know if you can scan junk at a local Kinko's and save them to a diask and take them home or something? Of course, I'd have to find a Kinko's first...

Well, I have a scanner, and I'd be willing to scan them in for you. If you don't want to rip anything out of your books or fold them, simply photocopy them and send the photocopies. I'd give you my snail mail address, but Canada Post is changing my address Anyways, I don't know anything about Kinko's or anything, but I'd be willing to help you folks.

I'd be happy to scan anything, as long as it's not 50 designs at once or something. Let me know unless you find someone else to do this. I think 359 is right about Kinko's, though.

Well, as for Kinko's, YES they can scan your work. However they charge $9 PER SHEET. If you do the math, after you scan 10 pics, you could have bought your own scanner...

I do have a color scanner.

It is a good idea just to make a Xerox of your drawing, then get one of those big brown mailing envelopes and write "Do not bend" on the envelope.

I have 10 designs right now, in various states of detail, although the various views often take up more than one 9x12" page.

I've done about all I can with them, but maybe there's more some bright guy can do with them. (In fact, I'd most like to send them to someone who might work their magic on them -- or maybe, once they're posted, I'll give free use to some folks, if anybody wants.)

To whomever I'm sending them, I will also send a brief description/explanation of the ship and any ideas behind it I might have had, so they can post that, too.

1st of 2: Are any of these drawings on graph paper? Several, but not most, of my ships started out as an original on graph paper. I recreated the original not by scanning, but by using the reference points where the drawing's lines crossed the gridlines of the paper. I don't know if you're anal enough to sit patiently through a 3-4 hour session to recreate a deawing you already have, but sometimes the result is worth the effort.

Kinko's charges $9 per scan? Are you sure about that? I thought they only charged by how long you used the computer, and what you print out...
