Good site if you have a R2-D2 fetish
www.astromech.net
Most interesting is the Gallery:

I think he pretty much covered every astromech that has ever appeared in the movies.

Meh, it's the same sort of things as those websites full of people who have been building KITT all these years...

And how. Yes, I, for one, found the pics very crisp and clean. I updated the frontpage until I reached the green R7-X2 again, missed it the first time. That one was a work of art.

Yeah, I liked the green one, too. Unfortunately, he was blown apart in the Death Star attack.

I remember finding this site a couple years ago. Resulted in me making these images:

I don't know what happened to my other post - but I never realised... Daleks and Astromech Droids have some vague similarities!! [Smile]

Maybe R2-D2's beeps and whistles are him saying "Ex-term-in-aaaaaaate" [Smile]

Heh, maybe that's where Anakin's problems stemmed from R2 kept digging it in that he got a "rub-down" from Padme before the two had even met.

Well he is the inspiration for Kenny.

Before reading that site, I hadn't thought about the fact that R2-units could be programmed with either gender personality. A female R2 seems dangerously kawaii.
