He's short. He's green. He's power-mad. He's an alien.

No, not Omega.

No, not Charles, EITHER.

He's Invader ZIM.

I adore this show. It is--to put it simply--effed up beyond belief.

For those who have not seen, Zim is an Irken invader a bit on the mad side. He was the reason for the collapse of Operation "Impending Doom" 1 when he savaged his own planet with a mech. Although not invited to be a part of Operation "Impending Doom" 2, he managed to find his way there anyway. The other invaders were sent to collect data for the impending invasion & all were given a SIR, a strategic information retrieval robot. Zim, however, was given the same treatment as the Ark B Golgafrinchams, including a garbage-built robot named GIR who's more than a little crazed.

Sent off in a general direction, Zim encounters Earth 6 months later & reports in, much to his superiors' dismay. On Earth, he makes his base & decides the best way to learn about the planet is to attend something called "skool." There he meets a classmate, Dib, who instantly sees he's an alien (the only one to do so) & is hellbent on exposing him, as Dib wishes to be a paranormal investigator when he gets older. Dib's father is the famous Professor Neutron (often seen as a head on a floating screen) & his sister, Gaz, is a sullen, moody little thing.

It was created by Jhonen Vasquez, the guy behind the comics "I Feel Sick" & "Johnny The Homicidal Maniac"...& what's truly strange is that it airs on Nickelodeon.

The music is great, the lines are hysterical, & the situations are "for great comedy." friday nights at 9PM EDT; Sunday afternoons at 5PM EDT. MUST watch.

(this is paraphrased. I don't remember exactly how it goes *LOL*)

Zim: Excellent. Now, GIR, turn on your Guidance Chip to steer us home.
GIR: OH, I left that at home..
Zim: What!? You left WHAT at home??
GIR: The Guid-y, Chipp-y thing!
Zim: GIR! WHY would you DO such a thing!?
GIR: To make room for cupcakes! (opens his skull, pulls out a cupcake and pops it in his mouth).
Zim: *groan*

I LOVE Invader Zim. I'm trying to get Charles hooked on it, but it conflicts with FarScape....

SOUNDS like Omega, at any rate.

Omega's not green. He's against the Kyoto protocol.

"More piggies, GIR! I demand piggies!!"

This show is dangerous, I stumbled upon a BitTorrent-file with 15 episodes of Zim, it has completely destroyed my saturday plans.

Also, I like the way Zim's voice breaks sometimes when he screams terrified.
This is way more depraved than Futurama, much more crazy. And I want to adopt GIR.

I love this show but I just killed the cable since my folks didn't know I ordered it with soft core porn on the side. They really need to loosen up.

Bah, what's the point of watching soft-core anyway? Just makes you more frustrated.

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Yes. Either show everything or don't show anything at all, you spineless self-censoring prudish saints. Grr.

Posted by Nim the Merciful (Member # 205) on :

You use it for foreplay! How many times do I have to-Oh no! It's happening again! The Grand Thread Derailing! I remember it like it was the 25th July 2001! *sob* *bawls eyes out*

As it happens, this show just recently came out on DVD.

Cost?
How many episodes per disk?
I can't possibly search for myself, Sol: do it for me!

PLEEZZZZE?

"Cost?
How many episodes per disk?"

We're talking Moose-room here. Scary Monkey Show. Time to become that corporate whore you've always dreamed about, Jasmine.

Besides, whatever the Zim-DVDs may cost, there's only the two seasons (and perhaps 5-6 unaired episodes put in there as nice gesture) so the total cost will be much lower than say the complete Futurama DVD-set, or dare I say? the Simpsons-Collection (sheesh).

But last I heard, only the first season had been released on DVD. Someone feel free to correct me. Except for TSN or Ultra, they take too much pleasure from doing so.

Suprnova claims there's a season 3 though...

Who are these Suprnova?

Found Season 2 on Amazon, btw. To be released August 31.

*edit* Linking to sites that directly promote piracy of intellectual property is a bannable offense. Do it again and suffer the consequences.

Actually, the "seasons" listed on Suprnova have nothing to do with actual seasons of the show. Also, it doesn't include any of the episodes that were completed, but unaired.

I have noticed how that varies, the line of season 1. And it'snot like you can tell the difference, in drawing style or quality. This is a positive thing, I think. Very high quality, especially the CGI-bits.
This show must've been way more expensive than Futurama, what with all the FX-heavy episodes...
