Happy New Year to all Flarites, where-ever you are!

Andrew

I had to work. I was by myself from midnight til 3am. I served a total of about 40-odd customers by myself in a span of 2 hours, whee. Then, I tried to get home. Oh lordy. First it was 10 minutes to get through to a cab company, then it was another 20 before the cab arrived.

My New Years usually suck. They have included a very seedy night on the Gold Coast in '97 which I'll hopefully NEVER REPEAT, EVER. Nights home alone with Star Trek. IRC'ing two New Years in a row. I got asked to go out to dinner this year! It was great.

What about the rest of you?

Four friends, a tray of barbecued pork, champagne out the wazoo and T.P.
And marzipan. Glorious marzipan.

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

Here's a cheer for 2006.

May it be infinitely better than that bitch 2005.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

Sex and sleep

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Doesn't that get said pretty much every year?

Doesn't it never really happen?

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

What is T.P.? Is it for your bunghole?

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

Well, Cartmen, I don't know about anyone else, but I tripled the amount of sex I had in 2004 in 2005. Tripled!

T.P = Trivial Pursuit. With naughty bits.

I went to a pretty girl's house and played board games with her and a couple little people her mom takes care of. They'd never played Clue before. Got a hug when it was all done. Good evening. [Smile]

Must... not... taunt...

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

Well, being married without children does have its benefits.

Triple nul and a hug, a song springs to mind.

"...such a lucky man he was...."

No, go ahead CC taunt away, let it all out.

Star Wars and beer. Best New Years EVER! (my sarcasm detector just exploded)

I had another big, dumb warehouse party. Music, dressed to the nines, lots of booze, lots of food: it was fun. I found myself in close proximity to a lot of female underthings and wound up on the couch next to a leggy blonde hottie , but alas, no play for the host.

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Nice tie. B)

Also, girl #1 sure looks to be embarrassed to be standing next to shoulderpad-and-cider(-ish) you. She is not your twin sisterrr, is she?

BX is hot, like a slightly uglier Carey Elwes.

(Where he is a thousand on a scale from one to nine.)

Well its January 2nd, I've just hung up my ships of the line calender. It's a little crooked...

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

I started a biiiig drawing of a dragon (to be transferred onto the wall of one of my neighbors) and got into it...then it was 2am.
(shrugs)

I was not in jail, drunk or in pain, so I'll call it a "win".
Besides, the drawing and the two models I worked on are looking really good.

...though I probably should have made a token appearance at this local bar- one of my pretty neighbors invited me to "hang out", but as I cant drink (drugs interfere badly) I skipped it:
too much noise and booze I cant participate in make me short tempered with drunk people- even pretty ones.

Got the kids in bed, then my wife went to bed early, and then her father (who was visiting) also went to bed (of course, he'd been asleep on the couch for hours already), so at midnight, I found myself..... here!

I do remember being the host for most of the big parties, but that was back in college. My, how times have changed.

B.J.

As parents, it's rare we find ourselves up past midnight. Just barely managed it this year, tried to phone some friends, mobile network was fucked, so we had a little snog then went to bed.

Posted by tricky (Member # 1402) on :

Got the flu, welcomed in the new year with a box of tissues and beecham powders.

Now that I've typed that it looks rather dodgy.

A good family snog is just what Santa ordered.

Jason purported:

When they can be distracted from their coke snortage and puking up of their dinners, sure.

Monday I missed work....as if anyone REALLY misses work. What I need is to find some inspiration to get back to the art table and work again.

I guess my resolution for the year is to actually start painting again.

Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :

I worked on my current painting project ("The Song of Solomon", painting one in a series of 66) and had the wonderful married sex. Had Monday off of work so we went to see "Memoirs of a Geisha". Grape Road was packed, nightmarishly so.

Posted by WizArtist II (Member # 1425) on :

well lets see a shot of the WIP

Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :

Generally, I dislike showing WIPs because they really look bad. But I'm bored:
 -

This is still in the early stages with little detail work done. I'm still just establishing colors and shadows.

I'm hoping to do one or two a year during downtime from other projects. I've already got "Genesis" pretty well planned out [Smile]

Posted by WizArtist II (Member # 1425) on :

Is that gouache or pure watercolor? Do I detect an alcohol splatter effect? Looks nice.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Song of Solomon, eh? I can't wait to see the picture for chapter 8, verse 10.

(Finding out the reference there is left as an exercise for the reader.)

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Ha ha. So are you intimately familiar with the Song of Solomon, or did you just skim-read through it to find the naughtiest bit?

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Certainly not "intimately familiar". I read it (or at least part of it) once, and thought that was a line worth remembering. I think I used it as my signature here for a while.

If it helps, I had to look up the chapter and verse numbers before I posted that earlier.

I thought he looked like some sort of cross between Nick Nolte and Jeff Daniels! [Wink]

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

I was going to suggest he join me in founding a Gary Busey lookalikes society. . .

Posted by Balaam Xumucane (Member # 419) on :

I think I'm going to stick with the Carey Elwes thing, thanks. Nolte, Daniels, Busey--arseholes. Yeah, at least Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He's talented. Look him up.

The girl in the first photo is strong in The Force, but she is not my twin sister. She's my ex girlfriend's little sister who sort of grew up. A lot. Her bra has little red skulls and crossbones.

Balaam!!!

Lofy photos! Loft photos!

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

What Snay said. I'd like to see where you are on your loft as well. It's been a while since you started renovating it; have you finished it yet?

Posted by Grokca (Member # 722) on :

He sends in pictures of him with women's underwear all over himself and you guys want to see his loft? I would rather see where he got the undies from. How sick are you guys?

Posted by Nim (Member # 205) on :

Jeezus this place has gotten institutionalized.

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

If I want to see women's underwear, I'll go dig through my mom's closet. The do-it-yourselfer in me really wants to see how cool his loft looks now.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

@Nim, or needs to be.

@Siegfried, I am now giving you my title of sick. At least order from a magazine so you have your own.

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

I suppose he wants them pre-worn. [Smile]

Posted by Nim (Member # 205) on :

Yeah, the old pre-ban underwear sure was something. Nowadays the bore is all cut down, they can't be shorter than 12" and only cops or jail guards can use those with velcro.

Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :

Um... what?

What is pre-ban underwear?

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

You know, before the Bixby Act of '11.

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

I thought it ws the Freeball act of '27

Posted by Nim (Member # 205) on :

It was conceived in response to the Teabagging clause, effectively hamstringing the tried and true practice across the board.

Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :

Maybe it would mean more to me if I wore underwear.

Posted by Nim (Member # 205) on :

You speak gospel, Aban, the kilt is an awesome garment. The ultimate in TB cotour.
If Hitler had worn kilts, read more books, gone to the right clubs...

Do it again, it feels good.

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

And AndrewR's post just gave me a horrible mental image. How impolite, Andy.

Whatever it is you're doing, it better not include any of the following: whips, chains, ball gags, nipple clamps, adult fan fiction, Queensryche, Brannon Braga, Netscape 4.1, monkeys, Playboy, Kobe Tai, bunsen burners, or toilet paper.

Posted by Da_bang80 (Member # 528) on :

Don't forget blind folds, electricity, needles, candle wax, forced sex roleplay fantasies, horses donkeys, sheep or hamsters.

A monkey using Netscape 4.1 to access adult fan fiction about Brannon Braga.

A monkey and his homosexual hamster life partner using netscape 4.1 to access adult fan fiction about brannon braga in homo-erotic scenes involving whips, chains, hot wax and said hamsters third cousin. EEWW! I definately grossed myself out on that one.

Posted by Nim (Member # 205) on :

This thread should burn in hell, [Player 1].

Posted by Da_bang80 (Member # 528) on :

There is no Hell. Only a million drunk monkeys at a million typewriters churning out classics such as the bible and the complete works of Charles Dickens
