People hunting geckos because they think it cures HIV is not justification for mankind's existence. It just shows that people are still not be educated about the causes and treatment of the disease, and the social/political/economic reasons why that might be. I mean if you need a reason... there's tajazzle.

It's weird- a bunch of actresses from the 80's that were considered so hot back then are...well... Look at Margo Kidder- she was once considered "not hideous" and that's just crazy talk.

most people with money (and sadly, insight) are hoarding their money because they know it wont matter in a 100 years or so, if their spawn-grandspawn-great grandspawn will have have, or even need thier money... we'll go back to coal and horses soon enough when the oil runs dry... assuming we dont die off from nuclear attack first. China says nice things but we all know that eventually we or someone else will start shooting.
If mankind is good at ANYTHING, it's coveting the property of others and they generally dont blink an eye to kill you for it. civilization IS nice but evil & greed prevails overall... eventually.

At a guess, I'll go with Pakistan organizing another "Mumbai massacre" and someone in India just saying "fuck it" and gong to war. There's only so much provocation they can be expected to endure...and the US wont be able to play friends with both sides. Evidence will be clear that Pakistan was behind the attack (as it was with Mumbai)and the conflict will escalate from there- leading to a nuclear exchange that hoses the region for decades (though possibly helping with the whole Global Warming thing).
