Snay's Species/Starship/Anomaly Game

I am thinkin' of something (or someone) from the Star Trek universe, either the five series (TOS, DS9, VOY, TNG, ENT) or the movies. It is either a Species (including main and secondary characters), Starship (I hope you know what that is), or Anomaly (including planets, celestial objects, etc.). However, you CANNOT ask if it is a ship, species, or anomaly.

You may have 20 questions to figure this out.

Does it have skin?

Does it have impulse engines?

Is it a naturally occuring construct that has the ability to warp time and/or space?

Yes.

No.

No.

Now, MIB, you can't ask a question again until someone else has had a chance

17 questions remain.

ok then. Got it.

I wondered if this game would ever get resurrected. I'd considered doing it a week or so ago, but didn't.

1)Does it start with any letter from A-L?

2)If not, M-Z?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

Veers,

Difficult to answer, but I'm going to have to say yes to both. I'd explain why, but that might give you too much information.

(Sometimes, asking too general a question is bad ...)

Are you thinking of an induvidual or an entire group/race of people?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

Individual.

Posted by Veers (Member # 661) on :

A-ha! Snay's given a clue. I must rummage through the encyclopedia.

Posted by MIB (Member # 426) on :

Please. There must be hundreds of induviduals in Star Trek. Maybe over a thousand. We must be careful to ask questions that will eliminate large portions of the possibilities.

Posted by Veers (Member # 661) on :

I know who it is now! Are we allowed to take guesses? Oh well...

It's Q.

Posted by MIB (Member # 426) on :

*shakes head* I can't believe you blew a question by asking if we can take guesses.

Posted by Veers (Member # 661) on :

It doesn't count. I answered it myself.
*will not post here anymore in fear of accidentaly asking a question*

Posted by MIB (Member # 426) on :

Only The Holy Deer Killer can decide if it counts or not.

I'm gonna log off now to watch Dragonball Z and Mobile Suit Gundam 0080. I'll be bakc in the morning.

*sigh*

Novices...

Q: Is it from one of the following series: TOS, TNG, Enterprise?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

Veers,

As you will recall, the answer to MIB's "Is it a naturally occuring construct that has the ability to warp time and/or space?" As Q is not artificial and has the ability to warm time/and or space ... it is NOT Q.

(And, no, I won't count that question, never fear).

Omega: Yes.

13 Questions Remain ...

1. It has skin.
2. It does not have impulse engines.
3. It is not a naturally occuring construct that has the ability to warp time and/or space.
4. It starts w/ a letter from A to L.
5. It starts w/ a letter from M to Z.
6. It is an individual.
7. It is from TOS and/or TNG and/or ENT.

Is it bigger than Frank?

Timothy, we only have a dozen questions yet, don't waste them on totally unrealistic ones. 8)

Posted by Shik (Member # 343) on :

That IS a valid question, though, since it's known throughout the land that 1 Frank equals 120 meters.

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

Granted. But there is a sect which maintains that Frank's size is infinite. But OK, we'll go with the question, is it bigger than 1 Frank, or 120m?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

Bigger then 1 Frank.

12 Questions.

Posted by Jernau Morat Gurgeh (Member # 318) on :

To me, Jeff's reply to the question about which letter it starts with can mean only one thing: Its name consists of more than one word, at least one beginning with a letter in the range A-L, and at least one beginning with a letter in the range M-Z. I still don't know what it is, though.

I should get my question back because you change the definition of a Frank from one post to another. A frank was supposed to be 120m.

Posted by Shik (Member # 343) on :

Is it female? Is it Bajoran?

Posted by Omega (Member # 91) on :

So we're dealing with a Starfleet officer that's bigger than average...

Worf comes to mind...

Riker...

The OTHER Riker...

Can't really think of any others off the top of my head...

So...

Q: Is it from TNG?

Q: Is it played by a main cast member?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

Sorry, Grocka. I mis-interpreted the original question as Frank to be "as big as Frank (the person)", or as long as 120 meters. I clarified -- and I did so *before* you posted, so no take backs.

Shik & Omega:

No, no, yes, yes.

1. It has skin.
2. It does not have impulse engines.
3. It is not a naturally occuring construct that has the ability to warp time and/or space.
4. It starts w/ a letter from A to L.
5. It starts w/ a letter from M to Z.
6. It is an individual.

10. It is 'man' or 'alien' made (in the sense of biology)
11. It is not female.
12. It is not Bajoran.
13. It is from TNG.
14. It is played by a main cast member.

Is it Worf?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

It is Lieutenant Worf!

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

I'd just like to point out that there should never have been any confusion about my question. I didn't ask "Is it bigger than 1 frank?". I asked "Is it bigger than Frank?". There's only one meaning for that: does it, or does it not, occupy a spatial volume greater than that occupied by the entity known as "Frank".

is he bigger than a lira?

Posted by Veers (Member # 661) on :

The riddle has been answered, Mike. And I'll answer your question for you:

Worf is bigger than Turkish money.

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Except a lira is an Italian monetary unit.

Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :

There are Italian lira and there are Turkish lira. IIRC, 1 Turkish lira = 1/1 000 000 USD

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

Lieutenant? That's not a name! I'd already discounted Worf because he only has one name! Foul!

On a lighter note, I wonder what happened to that leftover Turkish Lira I had from holiday? I seem to remember someone round here collecting currency.

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

Proper title, I think, counts. Not, mind you, if it is 'Mr. Worf', but 'Dr. Worf' or 'Lt. Worf', yes.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

You do overestimate Michael Dorn's size though if you think he's bigger than one Frank though.
