Since passengers and crew can be completely different things, I am going to not count this question unless you can clarify.

Arg! Both of those questions are invalid based on a previous answer!

Posted by Omega (Member # 91) on :

ACK! Come on, people, we already know its first on-screen appearance was during the run of TNG!

Did its first appearance on screen take place before the end of the fourth season of TNG (in universe chronology)?

No.

Posted by Omega (Member # 91) on :

So first appearance takes place during the first four seasons of TNG, and it appears in at least five episodes. (Unless Jeff is actually saying it appears in no episodes at all, but I don't see how that's possible.) Unless there are an awful lot of flashbacks to that period I'm not remembering, that means it must appear multiple times in those four seasons. It's not alive, and not independently warp capable. That's a very narrow field.

Does its first appearance take place in an episode of the first two seasons of TNG?

Can it contain or carry more than five people?

Is it a type of shuttlecraft?

Posted by Jeff Raven (Member # 20) on :

To clarify, it has been seen in more than 5 episodes of TNG, not limited to the first five seasons. The question did not clarify whether it was of those first 5 seasons, or expanding to all Star Trek Episodes, so I'll give this to ya.

No.

As far as I know, the Enterprise D did not have a captain's yacht. Assuming that one would be more comfortable than a standard shuttlecraft, it could technically fit more than 5 people in it. Question not counted.

Is it a turbolift?
I think one could fit more than 5 people in it too. Not comfortably, but it could be done. This question is also not counted.

Down to 3. Make em count!

Is it a shuttlepod?

Posted by Omega (Member # 91) on :

I'm pretty sure those have control panels...

Is it larger than 3m in any direction?

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

Yes the E-D had a captain's yacht. It is the bubble on the underside of the saucer. It supposedly was called the Calypso according to Patrick Stewart. Also known as the Captain's Gig. Look at this year's Ships of the Line calendar to see a great illustration by Andrew Probert of it.

It was left out of the blue prints I think - I can't find it anywhere.

Nope!

This is it. The last one.

Posted by Jeff Raven (Member # 20) on :

Let's review. It is not alive, it is not warp capable. It has been seen more than 5 episodes, but was initially seen within the first two seasons. It is not a shuttlecraft, shuttlepod, captain's yacht, the sauceer section of Enterprise-D, a turbolift, the captain's chair, and it cannot fit more than 5 people in it. It cannot move through open space on its own. It can be considered most often a part of Enterprise-D as a component or permanent fixture, It also does not have any control panels, and it isn't any bigger than 3 meters square and it is located in the saucer section.

Since we're not counting questions that specify something that was already ruled out, I noticed it was asked if it was the saucer section of Enterprise-D and if it was a type of shuttlecraft(assuming shuttlecrafts are warp capable) after the question "Is it warp-capable?" was answered with no, so I'll give you two additional questions.

3 questions to go.

Is it a type of room on the Ent-D?

Posted by Omega (Member # 91) on :

I think any room on the Enterprise that we've ever seen can hold five people.

Is it most commonly seen in the captain's ready room?

Posted by Mars Needs Women (Member # 1505) on :

Okay so forget my previous question.

YES! We have a winner! It is Livingston's tank.

Sonofabitch, I was gonna say that.

Posted by bX (Member # 419) on :

Err, is the lionfish tank a Starship, Species or Anomoly?

Posted by Fabrux (Member # 71) on :

It is not. However, that is just the game. The reason you can't ask if it is a starship, species or anomaly is because it can also be a thing... Thus the answer to that question could potentially be "none of the above"

At least, that's how I understand it.

Posted by Omega (Member # 91) on :

Alternately, the lionfish is a species. [Smile]

Posted by bX (Member # 419) on :

But had the answer been the lionfish, the answer to the first question would have been "yes".

I thought the game was that it had to be a starship, a species (poss member thereof) or anomaly, but you specifically couldn't ask whether it was one of those things. If only to eliminate people choosing, say, the replicator in Chakotay's quarters or some bulkhead strut off which Riley hung, unsw.
