At 08:14 Eastern Time on December 7, 1999, Administrator Daryus Aden disobeyed a direct order and used the forum control panel to delete the profile of ex-Administrator Lee (The First One). In the process, the following profiles were corrupted:

Simon

Sirshagg
Socko
Sol System
Starbuck
StationMaster

The Chosen One
The Excalibur
The Shadow
The_Tom
The Vorlon

I have manually restored the profiles. Your signatures are the same, however your status lines and the other extra information I gather has been reverted to the state it was in a few weeks ago when I made the last backup.

Daryus knew full well what he was doing - submiting the profile alterations would corrupt the profiles. The deletion of Lee's profile was not done under my directions. Therefore, I must assume that Lee asked Daryus to do it.

Daryus's Administrator abilities have been revoked, and his posting priviledges have been suspended. In addition, his FTP access has been terminated. Lee's profile has been restored, and his posting priviledges have been suspended as well.

I do not forsee either of them returning.

Now I'm even more pissed...

I just discovered 17 more corrupted profiles. When the board is down later today, I'll repair them.

Profiles are now fixed. If your profile started with R, S, or T, (capitals only, not lowercase) and isn't in the list above, it was probably effected - check your profile to make sure. If you suspect yours is still corrupt, please mail me with your username and password, and I'll see what I can do.

I've spoken to Daryus - he claims he never had any intention of corrupting the profiles and believed that recent upgrades had fixed the control panel. I'm inclined to believe him and will reinstate him later today. Thread/issue closed.
