After far too long, I'm proud to present FlareUpload 2!

So, what's new?

1) Improved login process - just click the link and you're in, assuming you're logged in here as well.

2) After logging in, you'll be presented with a complete list of your uploaded files, complete with thumbnails for images!

3) You can finally delete files you've uploaded.

4) You can also rename and replace uploaded files.

Try it out and let me know what you think.

A user-side thumbnail view is being considered, but as it's mainly for files that will end up being displayed here, that might not be done.

A note for those of you with particularly large uploaded directories... your initial login may time out while the thubnails are generated. If that happens, just reload the page. You may need to do this four or five times before all the thunbnails are properly generated. Don't worry, it will never need to be done again. There isn't much I can do to fix this due to the constraints of the language I chose... stupid PHP.

Oh, and for those of you that are here looking for new UBB.classic features... FlareUpload is not a UBB.classic component. And no, I'm not releasing it, as it uses technology that I am not permitted to distribute.

Thanks Charles... but I can't seem to delete three of the files I've uploaded... something about too many dots in a filename?
Posted by Charles Capps (Member # 9) on :
Oi. I've fixed the check. That should work now.

I'm logged in, yet it says I must be logged in to use the service. . . Ok, click on the log in link and it goes straight in. . . God, have I really UL'ed this many files?

You should see my directory...

Very slick, Chuckie. Those thumbnails are great to keep track of what the "fuck" you've actually uploaded over the years. B)

Whee... error messages! I sent you a PM, Charles.

Very nice, I've been wanting to delete a lot of those files for a while now.

No problems with it for me, Chuckles.

I also got the "you need to log in first" message. Might it have something to do with the fact that I opened the page in a new tab? (Just a wild guess there...)

Other than that, it's very very nice! [Smile]

No problems here, either; it's very nice.
Posted by Charles Capps (Member # 9) on :
Well, you do need to log in first. Seamless means you click a link and It All Works, not that you'll be logged in instantly. [Wink]

Works now! I really found things of which I have no clue anymore...

I can't believe I still have that Goldmember photo of Mike Myers and the Japanese schoolgirl twins.

You scare me...

You can almost see her defle*tor!

Charles: Is that .htaccess file in the top left of the file queue meant to be there? For upload purposes?
Posted by Charles Capps (Member # 9) on :
That's required to make your account exempt from the linking rules. It shouldn't be shown... mrf. Stupid bugs.

I must be using huge chunks of web space!

Still it pretty neat, like having my own online portfolio. [Smile]

One suggestion though, it might be easier (from a user's POV) to have little check boxes for the delete function, so one can delete several files at once and not have to do it one by one and have the page reload every time.
Easier said than done I suppose.

Wow! Neato torpedo. Thy pussy is the bomb, CC.

Feature Request: Not requiring the user to type in a new file name for the uploaded file, or perhaps defaulting to the file name you've. Not a big deal, but definitely 'would be nice'.

(also, I was in the process of uploading my lame photoshopped 'bush in space' graphics last night when suddenly I noticed the uploader was different. I could have been the first one to use it. Thank god it was for something important!)

Just checked it out. Wow. A bunch of TMP alien trading cards I scanned for Harry, and a picture of a girl I'm not even dating anymore. [Roll Eyes]

Harry, did you actually see those cards I scanned? If so, tell me & I'll delete them from the upload.
