Any other Dexter followers here?

So far not particularly impressed, but obviously we're only two episodes in. Last season was my favorite since the first.

Last season was pretty awesome.

Who wants to wager that EJO is all in Travis's head?

I'm a huge Dexter fan. I always find each season starts a tad slow, I'm sure it'll pick up. EJO in Travis's head? I never thought about it, but I thought I swore I saw Olmos talking with Dexter during the trailer for this season.

Just a little thought I had. But given certain hints and a snip from next week's episode, pretty sure he's real.

So far absolutely nothing (to my recollection) that would prevent the professor from being a hallucination. He has not been seen to interact with any person other than Travis, even in public.

I see what you mean. Especially with the whole market thing.

But you would think that if Gellar had died or something and this was all in Travis' head, the TA chick would've told them?

How would she know, though? All anyone knows is he "disappeared."

Aside from "pay the woman" at the market, there are some other things that have stuck out at me in preceding episodes. Of course, who knows if I'd even have been thinking about it if it weren't for this thread? [Razz]

At the coffee shop where Travis was checking out the waitress, she came over to their table and asked if Travis wanted anything else, but not Gellar. When the victim who slipped his chains was pleading with Travis in the church and Gellar was standing in the doorway behind Travis, the guy didn't seem to notice or attempt to appeal to him at all. Gellar pressing Travis' foot to the pedal when he hit the couple with the car. Afterwards, he didn't help put the girl in the trunk, either. Just things like that.

The one and only point I can think of that might run against this is where Travis sees Gellar's picture in the newspaper and Gellar says something to the effect that he shouldn't be there, as if he were concerned that he might be seen. But yet, he didn't really seem that concerned.

Another possibility I've considered is that they might be deliberately building up subtle suspicion that he's a hallucination only to have us be surprised when he turns out not to be. But that's probably overthinking things even moreso than the above might be.

One way or another, hallucinatory persons are certainly something the show has and--especially going forward from the latest episode--is continuing to deal with.

So I'm a little perturbed to see Brian back. How's that going to play out? Brian in place of Dad?

Okay, so the portrayal of Dexter's slaying of the motel guy, as well as some other of Brian's antics in this episodes lends credence to the theory that Gellar could be a hallucination.

OTOH, the captured chick claiming there were two captors could render it moot. Unless Travis is so fucked up that he talks to himself in two voices, which isn't unheard of. She didn't specifically say if they talked at the same time...

Yeah, that chick's statement is the only evidence there is that the Professor Gellar we see is the real Gellar and not some hallucination. Unless Travis is one hell of a voice actor. This latest episode seemed liked a retrospective on the more memorable moments of the series, what with Brian and Trinity's son.

So...yeah.

You beat me to it! But, yeah, I guess Travis is that sick. So is that intern who idolizes Dexter.

I'm a day behind in my viewings, but.....

I told ya so! [Razz]
