So... is it just me, or did Doctor Finn just blatantly violate her medical oath and stab, then shoot, a guy who was trying to protect her just because he wasn’t very talkative, and she didn’t like what he was telling her? He turned out to be 100% correct about the dangers outside. Or did I miss something that she found in the other room?

Or is it all okay because she got back to her kids? Just curious. Overall a good episode, but I’m puzzling over that part of the story...

I thought that was strange, as well. It seemed like her initial plan was to escape while he was gone, but then she suddenly decided to lie in wait for him and murder him instead? Not only did it seem out of place for a doctor and Starfleet-officer-analogue to do that, but it was also not a great plan, since the dude was twice her size and might have managed to overpower her. Then again, at the end of the episode, she basically didn't hesitate to hand her completely untrained adolescent son a gun and let him go shoot at a horde of murderous aliens, so who knows what she was thinking?

I am glad to see that the people in charge of the show apparently recognized that you can't do an homage to 1990s sci-fi without getting Brian Thompson to show up at some point.

He was kidnapping her, he explained his intentions to not stay lonely there, she did what she had to do to escape.

Yeah, I should have said that I didn't think she misunderstood his motives like MM thought. I was just confused by her stopping mid-escape to wait for him and murder him. She wasn't doing what she had to, because all she had to do was leave while he was gone.
