In that episode we see dr. Ira Graves in what I think is a modified photon torpedo. What did they call it in the episode, what was its purpose, and was the same model used for Key'lehrs probeship?

You mean that thing they put Graves's dead body into? I believe it's purpose was to be a coffin...

Aargh, he was dead?? The thing is, I only have the pic of the coffin. Since it had a windowshield, I assumed that it was for observational purposes.

Well, his body was dead, anyway...

In, Star Trek, that show we love, when people die, they arent buried like people we know today. They are placed within photon torpedo tubes. It happened in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Then again in "The Schizoid Man", "Tears of the Prophets", "The Ship" and also in a really good episode of Trek, "Starship Troopers"
That's probably what you saw.

It makes me wonder why photon torpedoes were considered rare and limited in Voyager when back in ol' Quadrant Alpha, those crazy spendthrift Federation types are flying all about resting in them with some degree of finality

I really like that scene in that B5 ep with the dozen or so tubes are launched from the station and the starfuries fly the Missing Man formation...
