Ah, well. I guess my streak of never, ever visiting MySpace had to end sometime.
As a fan video, that's definitely quite attractive. But if that's supposed to be a stealth leak of preproduction footage from the upcoming movie, then I'll be highly disappointed. It's cool-looking, but it's too much of a departure from the original.

I had actually already seen that footage about a month ago somewhere, but I didn't think it was actual movie footage so I didn't say anything. I still don't think it is. But it was nice.

This isn't from the upcoming movie. It was done by a gentleman named Gabriel Koerner, who works professionally as a 3D artist for Zoic (I believe he did the mesh for the new Viper on Battlestar Galactica).
The thread you're thinking of Dukhat is over at scifi-meshes.com, where he showed off this beautiful model as he was developing it. While some may not like the model as a replacement for the classic vessel, the design and the "art" of it is truly amazing.

Yeah, you're probably right. I often surf that site with drool hanging off the side of my mouth when looking at the amazing works of art I can only dream of doing myself. I especially like Vektor's stuff.

I like it in motion (I'd seen pics before), but the sound effects made me realize that it looks . . . assimilated, somehow.

Yeah the phasers sound(and look) like the ones from the TMP movies, albeit they're blue like in TOS.

Gabe made the movie as well. He's also said that he never intended this to be for the new movie.
