Ya Ya, probly been done a million times already but I'm curious to know what everyones favorite star wars spaceship is. This forums been pretty slow lately so I want to put a new topic in.

Most likely i'll already know all about whatever anyone comes up with. My favorite is the Maurader Class Corvette.

As long as people don't go out of their way to post obscure non-film ships just to be "cool" and "different" and "stupid".

If it makes you feel better though - Star Destroyer.

Falcon.

So we have a "Favourite Star Trek ship" thread, and a "Favourite Star Wars ship" thread. Then, all you need to do is post a thread asking who would win in a battle between the most-popular ship from each thread, and your journey to the dark side is complete.

NOt to be obscure or difficult or anything, but I always thought the Outrider from "Shadows of the Empire" was pretty cool. Nice Falcon tie-in without being boring about it.

There are alot of neat TIE variations in the comics and games too.

From the movies, Jedi fighter from Episode 2.

What the hell is a Marauder class corvette? I need a pic.

But my favorite is the Y-wing.

Just search a pic from google. It looks like a giant starfighter. And I posted this thread to see how many people would post "obscure" non-film ships. I mean c'mon everybody loves the star destroyer. But there's so much out there in the EU that can appeal to someone.

X-wing. Four engines, four cannons, nifty wings, astromech droid, and huuuge trunk space [Big Grin]

No rear defenses- phht.

I dig the Z-95 headhunter, though it suffers the same problems.

I dig Slave One. Roomy, lots of weapons and such without beng too big.

The very worst SW ship is the A-Wing- the full size prop was so small that the actor plating it's pilot could not even bend his knees- he's crammed in there like it's a bobsled.

I like the A-Wing, but mainly in the context of knowing what it's suppossed to be... a supper fast stripped down interceptor. Likewise the B-Wing by itself looks odd, but gains some appeal when you understand the design ideas behind it.

The Z-95 Headhunter though? That's just...meh.

And the problem with going for non-film ships is that almost all of them are based around the film designs. I like the TIE-Advanced/Avenger and the Victory-class Star Destroyer, but they're just variations on an existing design.

Ever see the Skipray Blastboat from Heir To the Empire and WEG's RPG?

Strange design- cool and nothing like the established stuff in looks -though the rear section rotates kinda like a B-Wing (it's made by the same company so it sorta makes sense).

The B-Wing was made by Slayn adn Karpil a Verpine Company. The Skipray was made by Seinar fleet systems, they company that produced the TIE series. The TIE Defender was cool. Faster than the A-Wing, More Powerful than the B-Wing, had sheilds and hyperdrive. But it was like the Ferrari Enzo of the Empire. The Hapan Star Home was probably the most unusual ship in Star Wars. It was a spacegoing castle made out of Basalt.

Ground Vehicle: AT-AT
Space Vessel: Death Star

Was the TIE Defender the one with the three wings? I liked that one.

Posted by Da_bang80 (Member # 528) on :

ya, there were a couple three winged versions of the TIE. there was the TIE cyclone that had the interceptor solar wings and the tie "clutch" from I,Jedi. And the defender.

Well I don't want to play any favorites, I like all ships in Star Wars. The brightest star in the sky right now, however, is the Defender class.
Chronologically the latest SD-design and the first true "good guy"-contribution to the Star Destroyer family.

Mine favorite ships for star wars are the Y-wing, X-wing, regular star destroyers and Vader's super star destroyer the Executor.

I particularly like the TIE Interceptor as well as the Jedi starfighter from Episode III.

That's a marauder corvette.

Hang on, a ship made of basalt? Basalt definately wouldn't be my first choice for starship-making material... Its too vesicular...

Anyhoo, for a favourite SW ship I'd probably have to say the Star Destroyer thing in RotS. With the nifty notches. I also think the Nebulon-B looks kinda cool, too.

It had a sophisticated molecular bonding sheild much like the one used at the Corporate Sector's Star's End prison facility. It gave Star Home the structural integrity needed for intersteller travel. Don't quote me on that i pulled that out of my mind, It's too early to look it up.
