(Hang on! That's an idea! Perhaps ships were only considered new versions when the TWO previous versions were destroyed. Therefore, the NX-01 and NCC-1701 are the same ship so it doesn't count and everyone's happy! Or something...) "Maybe this means the shuttle from "Caretaker" (NCC-71235) was stationed at DS9? Probably not, bt just a thought." Tsk. Everyone knows that shuttle was a shapeshifter. How else did it's registry flip between NCC-71235 and NCC-1701-D between shots? I'm not up on shuttle-types, but was it the TNG shuttle? Or the original Voyager type shuttle? If it's the later, I can't see why it would have NCC-1701-D on it. If it's the former, where did NCC-71235 come from? Perhaps the shuttle was marked as that for the final scenes from Generations. Which means...we can figure out the Miranda's registration (it's far too high to be an Oberth, but the Miranda is obviously some magical ship that disobeys all known laws, so that's okay).
