The Guardian? Sounds like a tough guy. I'm gonna step outside while you deal with him. If I hear screams and see any body parts flying, expect to see only my dust! HEHE!

What is the Guardian anyways?

It would appear to be a bit of software that stops CGI processing if the server gets overloaded...

FYI: http://www.aota.net/ubb/Forum5/HTML/001315-1.html

Note the graph that ccTech posted.

We're on the same server and Apache set as the problematic site (x20 on SIX).

Ok, so we should all change from pconnect to connect? First of all, how would one do that???

Hehe, sorry to come with more crap, but I noticed that if you want to bold or italic something in a message, it only works if it's the last and most recent word in the message.
If you go back in your message and want to insert bold text at an earlier point in the message, the word will still pop up in the bottom so you have to cut and paste it up to where you'd want it to sit.

That's why you can use the tags on yer own. Try it - click the "UBB Code is Enabled" text on the left of the post box for examples and instructions.

The Guardian... sounds like you were talking the
Watcher in the Water from "The Fellowship of the Ring"!

One question...
Would it be possible to add a feature in future UBBs to have a 'subscribe to thread' feature like in vBulletin?
3D Gladiators has begun to utilize it, and I find it very useful.
(sorry for dredging up this old thread, I've been a way for a while).

The problem with that is that UBB can only send out up to 200 mails in a short period of time... email notifications are VERY popular. Medium to large boards would fill that queue in no time flat.

We're thinking about ways around the limitation.

I figured that was the problem.
I'm really looking forward to v6.1 now.
