This is abfab. In thirst of plot, I seriously suspect these entities once had a noble purpose but collided with an alien probe and had to borrow parts from it to mend themselves, wink wink.

No idea.. the filmmaker's site has a link to a page that supposedly contains it, but im not sure what im looking at when i click there... it says its somebody's last words before they 'disappeared'.. but they seem eager to start another web phenomenon.. at least people arent photoshopping up 'are there stairs in your house' pics yet like the 'all your base' problem we had. (considering 'laziest men on mars' were involved with that too)
I'm incredibly creeped out by the background imagery in the last two segments. and the ending catches me by surprise each time, when the shattering noise breaks the music. highly effective.
