I've been given the responsibility of planning a bachelor party. What I need from you folks is an idea for a mindless action movie that has practically no plot with lots of action sequences. I don't think a porno flick would be too appropriate. Besides, I don't want to be sitting around in a room with a bunch of guys watching a porno. [Wink]

No, it's gotta be porn. You don't all jerk off to it or anything like that, you just have a good laugh. A really camp 70s film is probably best. But if it's gotta be an action film, maybe again the 70s are best, namely a kung-fu flick. The weirder and more bizarre the dubbing, the better.

Is this really a hard category to find films, for? I'm going to go with "action + insanity, or tastelessness, or sheer incomprehensibility" instead of just plotless, for which, I mean, why not just go out and see every movie in theaters at the moment?

I hear Crash Che Botte! is a pretty odd Italian kung fu film. It even begins at a wedding, I think, so, it's got topicality.

I've always wanted to see For Your Height Only, a spy movie from the Philippines about a very short spy. I have seen, like, one minute of it, and that was the greatest minute of my life.

There is a movie I know of, but have not seen, that involves both kung fu and sex-powered wizards that would probably be the best of both worlds, but I can't remember the title.

If you want action, plus fun, plus more cheese than even Lord Edam owns, combined with a Montage Sequence (woo), then how can you ignore Rocky IV?

"I vill break you". And so on.

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

Armageddon.

All action no plot.

I'm slightly annoyed at Hobbes' rather rude decision to be much more attractive than me though. That's just rude. - PsyLiam, Oct 27, 2005.

Flash Gordon.

Wooden acting, bizarre retro style, Brian Blessed, and music by Queen.

And there are some fantastically bad movies on http://www.badmovies.org/ or http://www.somethingawful.com/reviews/.

Mindless action? Something the guys can cheer to?

I'd definitely take "Bloodsport" with Van Damme, his first leading role and even better than "Kickboxer", which is also a heavyhitter in the genre. I'd rent both, they're just 90 minutes each anyway.
Be sure to get the unedited versions, though, otherwise the final fights in both movies aren't as good as they could be.

Hmm... I'll have to take a gander around Blockbuster. Keep in mind that that's the only place I can get a movie. Anything else would have to be bought from somewhere and I don't really feel like doing that.

"Commando"

One man, with the help of Chong's daughter and bottomless loads of ammunition, takes out an army of Latin American guerillas and an Australian rugby player inexplicably massing on an island off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.
