And they got Henry Silva in on it too? Jackpot.
This movie was released only a year and a half before The Simpsons started (with their own McBain in '91), seems to be a case of convergent evolution.

Then I found The Clip.

Excerpt:
"Hey, who the fuck is this?!"
-"Your worst nightmare, butthorn!"
-"MCBAIN!"
-"Hehe, yea!"

I don't think so, but even if so, I don't give a shit: you got a cop here who gets sideswiped off the road by a van, then decides to give chase in reverse and fire his gun at the van while driving backwards. McClane didn't do that trick until eight years later, in 1995.
Busey's McBain is Duke Nukem's Oxycontin-nibbling uncle.

Yes, Cobra indeed walks the walk and talks the talk, but here is my reply to that.

The point of the thread was to show that there was a "McBain" before the Arnold-inspired McBain in the Simpsons, and that this McBain was epic levels of Busey.

Hm, I had hoped to lure Lee out of the woodworks by now.
