I'm hoping that was sarcasm, or did you not notice that the story was out of the UK?
However, I have heard of similar things happening in southern California. Some people tend to get freaked out when there's cameras around. Although I've never heard or seen any such craziness anywhere I've lived (GA, MO, AL).

I know you can get arrested for taking pictures inside or near an airport, and people have been stopped and questioned taking pictures of certain government buildings.

Not long after a local air force base decomissioned, one of the kids at my school won the school photo contest by taking a picture of someone standing under one of the "Do not take pictures here under penalty of law" signs that the AF hadn't taken down.

Given this was carried in 'The Daily Mail', I'm surprised they didn't make an attempt to blame those "damn dirty immigants" the Mail blames for everything else in society... But this kind of thing doesn't surprise me. We live in a society that had a vigilante group beating the shit out of a paediatrician because they couldn't work out the difference between a doctor specialising in child medicine and a pervert...it's no wonder the lunatic fringe that Mail always reports about and tries to pass off as the majority would get pissy about a father taking photos of his kids.

I think that has more to do with suspicions that they might blow the place up, not molest it.

Well, you never know how many people may be whispering sweet nothings to air port waiting benches.

Of course, the same paper's that are claiming that this is "political-correctness gone mad" are the exact same ones who ran stories informing us that a paedo could be living on our street and could mollest our children at literally any minute now OH MY GOD HE'S DOING IT NOW QUICK RUN!
-------------------- Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.
