As it only appeared in one episode, the SSA was seen in Seasons 4, 6, or 7. Not and.

Let's narrow it down. Did he appear in season 6?

Jeff, It can't be Timicin because his name starts with a T and the SSA has a name that starts with a letter from A-M.

Is he human?

Oh, and clarification: when you say that his name does not start with a letter that is n-z, is that first or last name?

If last, Stephen Hawking would seem to be a good guess. Not an official one, though. He's certainly technologically dependant. Sigmund Freud, too, if you consider a hologram as technologically dependant.

It's amazing how few non-fed/non-threat people there are for whom we have two names.

Actually, I'm going to have to count the Timicin question, for reasons that will become clear once you know the answer.

Season six is indeed when he appeared.

His appearance did include his presence on the Enterprise.

You could say that he's human. Sort of. It depends upon your definition.

As for whether the A-M thing refers to the first or last name... The answer is "No". That's all I care to say. Reference yourself to my original answer to the question, and also to the thing about Timicin, and you just might figure it out.

Summary:
It starts w/ a letter from 'A' to 'M'.
It is not larger than Frank.
It is larger than an average Welsh Corgi dog.
It is humanoid.
It is not a Federation citizen.
There is some question as to whether or not it can...
It is not the Ferengi.
It is a single unit, not a group.
It is native to the alpha/beta half of the galaxy.
It is not Balok.
It is not Barash.
It first appeared in TNG.
It is not "allied" w/ the Feds in any official way.
It is not an enemy of the UFP.
It is dependant upon technology.
It is male.
He has only been in TNG.
He did not appear in season five.
He is not Lore.
He has more than one name.
He did not appear in seasons one through three.
He did not appear in more than one episode.
He is not Dr. Timicin.
He appeared in season six.
He was aboard the Enterprise.
He could be considered human.
3 questions left. Use them wisely.

Y'know, it just so happens that he is...

Is the real person, not the hologram, currently alive today?

You mean "today" as in March 21, 2000, not "today" in the Trek world? Yes, unless he's died w/o my knowledge.

It could be either Albert Einstein or Professor Stephen Hawking. Both appeared in Season 6, both appeared as holograms. Although Albert Einstein's first and last name start between A and M, I'm not so sure if he's still alive today.

Stephen Hawking is the more likely candidate, but that "S" in Stephen kinda gets me fuzzy there. The biggest thing is that Hawking is really dependant on Technology, with that speech machine and such. That and the fact that he's very much alive today ...........

As for Freud, he appeared in Season 7, not 6.

People are going to hate me cuz I know I'll get this wrong, so, Is it Professor Stephen Hawking?
