Have you ever paid attention to the parts in some songs where the singer just goes "la-la-la", or "na-na-na", or something to that effect? Well, I've taken eighteen songs like that, extracted the bits in question (or a piece thereof), and now you get to listen to them, and try to guess what songs they're from. Interesting, yes?
Well, if nothing else, it's the first new contest we've had in a while. Give it a shot, eh? :-)
All of these clips are in MP3 format. If you haven't got some sort of MP3 playing software, you'll have to get it. The WAV files were going to be too big for people w/ lousy connections (the largest was nearly 950kB).
Addendum: Well, the links weren't working, so I asked someone else to upload them for me, and they still don't work. We'll try this when I can find someone who doesn't use GeoShitties (which I suspect might be behind this...).
Post-addendum: Yay! It works! Now we can get on w/ it! :-)
And thanks to Jeff Raven for supplying (semi-)functional Web space for them...
The clips are now WAVs, but they are MP3 encoded. Because they are now on Fortuneshitty, rather than GeoShitties (free Web space providers ought to stop using "city" in their names...), you'll get a window w/ three broken pictures, and you'll have to click the middle one to hear it. Either that, or copy & paste the URL. [Correction to this: See my post below.]

#4 is definitely the Smurfs. #7 is Stayin Alive! by the Bee Gees. #11 is Fly like an Eagle by Steve Miller Band. #15 is I'm Burnin for You by Blue Oyster Cult. #17 is Brown-Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. #18 is Hey Jude by the Beatles.

Wow. You guys are pretty good at this. There are only a couple left that haven't been figured out (and one that's been half figured out). One of them I'm not surprised at, though, really. I didn't really expect anyone to get it... :-)
