SO what is up with Dukat?
Was he meant to be a real messenger or is the vision that Kai Win had from the paiwraiths like the vision Sisko had with that writer story?.
Makes sense since the Pai wraiths would send Dukat in with knowledge of their plans and Dukat could take advantage of the situation by posing as that guide she was told to wait for in her vision. This could be the trial that Sisko must face alone. Now that he marries, the pai wraiths could use Casssidy as their host should they wish to inhabit the body of someone to fight the prophets, just like with Jake.
Or is Dukat just posing as the real messenger?
I like the first theory much better.
