Never met him, but I did see him through a crack in the door at a convention once.
I think he was an awesome guy. Even the small timers at conventions get jaded to it pretty quick. That he would take the time to single out people and take an interest in their life, realizing that, maybe even for the silliest of reasons, he can have a positive influence on them is really touching.
