He's appeared as Riker in four different Trek shows, which is probably a record already, but I wonder if he's whlding out hope for a fith?

Well, they did specifically point out that the Defiant travelled both across dimensions and through time. If Discovery uses the same method to return home, there’s no guarantee it’ll return to 2256. Which means a Riker appearance isn’t ruled out completely.

In fact, I’d completely support a Riker appearance if only he’d specifically state that he NEVER USED THE HOLODECK AT ALL DURING THE PEGASUS INCIDENT.

Because I’m pretty sure everyone wants that retconned.
