Well well, looks like we're stuck with the Enterprise design, since It was seen moving around in monitors on the sets.
Bakula says that its the first starship to go out into space.
We also see the 'Ready Room set' which has a horizontal table top schematic of the Enterprise.
It also has moving Enterprise schematics in the background - if anyone has a screen capture card...
Bakula says the best thing about the ready room set is the comfy chairs.
Also, TECHNOBABBLE... Technobabble makes a good Star Trek not.
I want to organise with someone in the US to send me out a video (In Australia)... Once the series starts - so I'm not behind... I'll send you the money for a tape and postage... I'll start up another thread about it later.

The first starship does not mean the first spaceship.
But it does screw up the statement of the TOS Enterprise being the first 'Starship Enterprise'. Well at least it was the first starship Enterprise that was created during the existence of the Federation...

And if, say, the Tkon had some ships they called a "starfleet" six hundred thousand years ago, and one happened to be called the "Aentirprreyz" (pronounced "EN-ter-prise"), would that be a violation of continuity, too?

I realize this is off-topic, but I'd highly recommend to anyone to read the Q-Continum set of TNG books. They merge Qs and the End of the T'Kon Empire in really interesting ways, not to mention several other superbeings and events from TOS and ST5. Good read. =]

No it wouldn't. It would have nothing to do with what we call Star Trek. And, if it's anything like the Last Outpost, it will be worse than swallowing your own teeth.

Yes, in that of all the races, the Klingons are the closest we have to a race fleshed out the point where drama can be written about them and them alone.
