Well, this certainly is getting more debate than I anticipated... Anyone else know the ship's name?

Just took the time to go through the actual list, and I'd like to query a few I don't think have been questioned yet:-

1. USS Bonchune?

2. USS Spector?

From listening to it, it could be either Madison of Manson, but I'm going with what the CC says.

Vogon:
The Bonchune is the nebula-class ship from "Message in A Bottle" (VGR) and the last Ships of the Line calender. The name was not readable in the ep itself, and from the calender it looked like either Bogue or Bodue. But Mojo from foundation imaging (the CGI company that did the calender and the CGI models for the show) confirmed that it said Bonchune, after a colleague of his. There is some doubt as to whether it was actually on the CGI model in the show or if it was added just for the calender, but at least for now I'm including it for complete-ness's sake.

The Spector is the Akira-class ship in "Message in a Bottle" (VGR). The name and number were in the Fact Files.

When was the Constitution mentioned in "Datalore?" I don't remember it. And this Zandura class? Anyway, I don't know about counting the Hiroshima as canon. I saw it in the back of the second Encyclopdeia, but not in the main body or the ship list. And they took it out in the third one. They changed it back to Appalachia.

The Constitution wasn't mentioned in "Datalore". It was on a computer readout. And, even at that, it was apparently just a diagram of a refit Connie w/ the registry "NCC-1700".

The Zandura was a four-nacelled ship that was drawn as a possible ship for the battle in FC, but they never made a model and it wasn't actually in the movie.

I already know about the Zandura, I just haven't got around to posting the revised version yet.

The Constitution was seen in a display in "Datalore," in nifty refitted configuration, no less.

I like to include the Hiroshima simply for complete-ness's sake.

Okay, 2 questions:

1. What episode of DS9 was the Grissom mentioned in?
2. Is there anything canonical that says the Shepard is Oberth-class?

Anything else you noticed, please let me know.

If a ship was mentioned in an episode that I don't have under its entry, please include this.

I realize that if it does indeed turn out that Starfleet existed in the Enterprise timeframe, there will have to be a great deal added to this list.

thanks.

That's better! The Grissom was mentioned in "Field of Fire."

Oh, and nothing canonical says anything about what class the Shepard was.

Okay, thanks.

I've edited the post to include the FoF ref for the Grissom.

Oh, and I was just wondering about the Shepard because someone from an old post said there was some backstage info from ILM or the script or someplace that said it was an Oberth.

Anyone?

Well, it definetly could be an Oberth as the first Oberth we saw was the Grissom for Gus and the second American in space. Shepard was the first American in space. Hell, it might even be NCC-637 if they went that linearly with naming that first batch of Oberths.

Although, I could've sworn Alan was Sheppard, so it might be named after the playwright Sam Shepard. Would be a good thing, since he's a damn good playwright.
