$$$$$ SPOILER SPACE!!!!!!!

We do know that this Breen weapon is sorta like a power dampener. Could be similar to the effects of the Tykens rift in TNG. The fact that the air became toxic is probably a malfunction in the Defiant's life support system just before she blew. Anything else?

First of all, you forget the $$$$$$$$$$ marks.

Second: You could be right about this. But it can also be a (side)-effect from the weapon.

AHA! TOO late!

I reckon toxic air must have been due to a coolant leak or something, which the life suport systems couldn't filter quickly enough in their damaged state.

As for the new (worfspeak)Wheapon, I suppose this is as good a theory as anything. I wonder if it's so nasty because it's in any way organic?

c.f. 8472 and their nasty gadgets.
