Uh-huh...

Liam: I'm not saying the things that are simply silly can't be ignored. But "Alderaan" is a perfectly valid name for a planet. If the display said "Diplomatic mission to that planet that Princess Leia was from in Star Wars", we'd have to ignore it. But there's nothing wrong w/ "Alderaan".

Besides, we've got a ship class called "Akira". Isn't that just as bad?

Yeah and the first Akira that we ever saw was the ThunderChild. So various famous names have been used.

Well, 'ship named after battleship from memorable scene in famous novel' is hardly the same as 'ship named after eponymous hero of 1990s Japanese anim.' Then again. . . maybe Akira comes second in 24th-century polls of Greatest Movie Of All Time. After Citizen Kane, of course. 8)

Your use of multiple exclamation marks make me concede. You are the better man.

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

The S.S. Santa Maria is an Erewon-class personnel transport from "Paradise" (DS9)

The S.S. Oregon (no, not Oregono!) is from a compuiter display in "Whispers" (DS9)

Oh! I was confused by the "USS" part of Santa Maria. And I knew about the Oregon from another thread, not the Oregono!

Nope, the USS Santa Maria is a Galaxy class vessel docking at DS9 in the DS9 calendar 2001 (or was it 2000?).

You'll find more about this Santa Maria in this thread:

Wow. Thanks, Spikey.

What was this 'DS9' calender? Was it like SotL? Did it have computer imagery of models, or screnshots, or what? Can anyone do a pic of the supposed USS Santa Maria?
