Who's the guy!?! [Big Grin] j/k j/k! [Smile]

Yeah that girl is pretty cute. Funny how she's got the ship with the ONE nacelle! [Smile]

Still prefer Hoshi though! [Smile]

The pic with Okuda holding the ship seems to have the same "lip" around the secondary hull, but not on the other pics....it's even kind of in Red's CGI version.....nice comparison there Red. [Wink]

Dat's Greg Jein, I believe. And which lip are you talking about?

Andrew

The lip near the connection of the nacelle pylons with the secondary hull.....like on the Ambassador class.

I'm not sure what 'lip' you mean, I can't see one evident on the Niagara. As for inconsistencies between the 3D model and real, physical studio model, it was made long before these new pics of the Niagara became available. I had only the photo with Greg Jein, and the schematics based on it, to go with.

I refer to the area under Okuda's hand in this pic:
http://www.trekmania.net/the_fleet/princeton-model.jpg
Red's CGI version (very nice BTW)has a slight "lip" extending around the shuttlebay, like the much more pronounced version on the Ambassador. On the Ambassador this lip curcles the aft of the secondary hull and is the point where the nacelle pylons attach.
As for the photo: it may just be the angle: I cant really view the ship for too long without wincing. So....ugly....

The only thing I see under Bizarro-Okuda's (i.e. Greg Jein's) hand in the picture is the lower nacelle.

[Big Grin] Yeah, I bought him for several hundred thousand and pay him nearly 50 grand a year. He now makes models for me. [Big Grin] I've got to be careful though, I'm getting hints that he wants a raise or two.

did you picture him as being some suave, tuxedoed secret agent-by-day, Trek modeler-by-night?

Me, i knew that he looked a lot like Buck Bokai.
