The first thing I saw on the first picture was the background 'dish edge'. Rain-tank would be the thing that sits above the dish in the middle.

Has anyone here seen the GREAT movie "The Dish"?

BTW, where in "The Cage" were these pictures and what were their purpose? Looks more like something you'd see in the Guardian of Forever

The impressively-noggined aliens went through the ship's databanks upon arrival at the planet (whose name is, crazily, lost to me), and the pictures conveniently showed up on the viewscreen.
