Wow, star trek.com has posted pics of the gorn ship, go to this link and check it out. Fairly ugly I would say, but I really like the fact that it´s a drasticly new design!

Oh man, you´re right, now why didn´t I see that. Even the dome is vagely oberth-esque..
But I stand by my statement, it looks fairly unique and alien. (at least it´s not green..)

But is that because they chose not to make it green, or because it appears to lack anything but default materials?

Actually, it was a joke in response to someone´s comment on trekbbs where the poster said that every alien ship on Star Trek was green. And obviously that´s not the case, but the artists do seem to like green, romulans, klingons, orions, many aliens from "Enterprise" and so on.

Oooh, and there's K-7 as well(although obviously not a new design, thank goodness).
The Gorn design is fairly good. I mean, it's quite a basic model, so there's not an awful lot to go on. The nacelles on the top are very similar to the 1701 and Romulan BoP's ones, I think I actually like that though. It seems like a TOS thing to do.

Fucking WHOA.
That is some nice alien shit, man, & it TOTALLY assfucks the 40 years of prevailing fandom concept that the Gorn philosophy is "push hard until it moves--who cares what it looks like?" Nice as shit.

Baddass design- I agree with Shik here- it rocks. No other race is more maligned by games and fandom than the Gorn- both FASA and SFB use them as third-rate bozos with inferior tech- despite the Gorn in Arena clearly being tough and having cutting edge ships.

I have to disagree with the second part about the bridge, but I think the design is pretty neat. Of course, seeing it with textures would help.

I think it started with green working better for cloaking effects and spiralled out of control from there.
