Two comments: 1. I like the Academy emblem, but the GG Bridge towers are inaccurate. But you probably know that. 2. On the first version of the UESN patch, the map is cut out behind the letters.

1. Indeed I do. It's more of an exaggerated or even impressionistic view of the Golden Gate than a literal one. 2. Yeah, that was a quick and dirty way of separating the letters from the map.
I think now that it's grown on me a little I'll go with the UN style one.

Just about to finish off another logo, but I need a little help with the Kanji. So if Masao or any other Japanese speakers would indulge me; which of the following is correct? 星から、知識 or 星々から、知識を If I'm even close with either of these, it should be pretty evident what I'm going for, even if the grammar is off.

I'm not much of a hand at proverbs, which might have a special sort of grammar. You'll need someone who's actually fluent.
Edit: The Japanese Wiki translates Ex Luna, Scientia" as "tsuki kara no chishiki" (literally, "knowledge from the moon) and translates "Ex Astris Scientia" as "hoshiboshi kara, chishiki o" (from the stars/heavenly bodies, knowledge [as grammatical direct object]. I'd tend to trust the translation of the original NASA version more, since it might have come from a better source than otaku trekkers, but I kind of like the Trekker version.

Keep in mind I can't actually read Kanji, I've just been translating their meaning, copy/paste style. Most online translators I've tried don't give the Romaji spelling, just a straight English/Kanji translation. Bit of a pain really. So, with that (and the fact that Brits are notoriously monolingual) in mind, what should the Kanji for "hoshiboshi kara, chishiki o" look like?

That's because it's not a jewel, it's the patch version you see on the shoulder Army of Light uniforms and the banners. It's surprisingly hard to get good reference on the actual pin, all I can find is German replicas on ebay. I prefer to work from primary data sources.
I've avoided doing most of the commonly seen ones for now in favour of the more obscure ones for now. I'll get around the the major races symbols eventually, but for now I'll focus on things not seen clearly so far.
