These are various configurations of my favourite class, the Ambassador-class.

 -
This is the original Ambassador-class. Introduced in the late 2290's-early 2300's, with the class prototype, U.S.S. Ambassador NX-10521
Ships of this class:
U.S.S. Adelphi NCC-26849 U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C
U.S.S. Excalibur NCC-26517 U.S.S. Exeter NCC-26531
U.S.S. Gandhi NCC-26632 U.S.S. Horatio NCC-10532
U.S.S. Valdemar NCC-26198

 -
This is a slight variation, including bussard collector cowlings and a sensor bulge below the secondary shuttlebay.
Ships of this variation:
U.S.S. Yamaguchi NCC-26510 U.S.S. Zhukov NCC-26136

 -
This is an experimental testbed variant. Only one was ever produced, as there were numerous problems with the drive systems and internal configuration.
Ships of this variation:
U.S.S. Rainer NCC-26677

 -
This is the newest upgrade to the basic Ambassador platform. This includes four more torpedo tubes for quantum torpedoes, more phaser emplacements, phaser cannons, and ablative armour. This variation is classified as Ambassador-class Type II.
Ships of this class:
U.S.S. Amon NCC-26600 U.S.S. Apis NCC-26601
U.S.S. Hathor NCC-26602 U.S.S. Isis NCC-26603
U.S.S. Osiris NCC-26604 U.S.S. Re NCC-26605
U.S.S. Serapis NCC-26606 U.S.S. Set NCC-26607
U.S.S. Aeolus NCC-26608 U.S.S. Janus NCC-26609
U.S.S. Atlas NCC-26610 U.S.S. Boros NCC-26611
U.S.S. Cronus NCC-26612 U.S.S. Dionysus NCC-26613
U.S.S. Helios NCC-26614 U.S.S. Nemesis NCC-26615
U.S.S. Nereus NCC-26616 U.S.S. Satyr NCC-26617
U.S.S. Circe NCC-26618 U.S.S. Genii NCC-26619
U.S.S. Sibyl NCC-26620 U.S.S. Black Dog NCC-26530
U.S.S. Citadel NCC-26541

NB-Only the original and the first variation are canon. Just making sure I mention that, so as not to create any warfare.

Hm... Am I seeing a slight Egyptian theme to that last variant? ;-)

Ack! I must've inadvertantly deleted some of that message! It was supposed to say "Egyptian and Greek". Pleh...

Well, actually, the ships in that last variant are named after Egyptian, Greek, and some other kind of gods, save the Black Dog and the Citadel.

Dionysus is spelled wrong. Should the Black Dog be 26530 or 26630?

Maybe some of the newer variants should have higher registries. The Zhukov has "NCC-62136" on the hull, although it was supposed to be "NCC-26136".

They could have been refit, or maybe weren't built.

I corrected the Dionysus. The Black Dog is supposed to be 26530-it was one of the older ones refitted, along with the Citadel. They were the only ones that could be refit beofre the war.
