I finally remembered to take some digital pics of these today. What do you think?

 -

The first one was made right after Episode 1 came out (you'll notice the Qui Gon influence). It's mostly PVC piping and a plumbing tube, but there's also part of a sprinkler head and the silver top of a sink drain on there. The activator switch is an old ear phone nub and the recharge port above it is the tip from an Aztec airbrush. This was my Padawan saber [Smile]

The second one I made just after I saw Episode 2 for the first time (you'll notice a slight Mace Windu influence). The hilt is a Colgate Toothpaste Pump tube filled with concrete. The emitter assembly is a medicine bottle with 1 Aleve bottle cap on each end, part of a silver shower head for the tip, and 4 ketboard keys spaced evenly around the head. The buttons are two bottle caps and the copper blade adjust button is a Hot Wheels tire.

I love making these because you can work on them for, like 5 minutes at a time, then set them aside for a week. Plus it's just cool to walk around with them hooked to your belt...

Sweet Merciful Yoda! thats a hella job.. i often collect found objects that are shiny with the hopes of crafting them into something someday, now i have ideas!...

on the opposite side of the spectrum, i hav a broken Qui-Gon saber that i have sealed, removed the battery case from and made into an extendable bong.

Those are really spectacular! you should make props for them.. theyre probably gonig to be slaughtering a lot of Jedi in the next movie.... [Wink]

That is really impressive, Aban. Is there anything you don't do well? 'Cause I'm really jealous over here. [Smile]

Cool! The next thing to do is figure out how to make them work... [Wink]

Thanks for the complements guys. Glad you like 'em. Maybe I should volunteer the designs for the next movie... they got pretty lazy with Episode 2. All the background Jedi had the same designs as the background Jedi in Episode 1. Even the sabers Obi Wan and Anakin got tossed in the arena were reuses. I wanted to see a bunch of new designs, man [Smile]

Anyway... here's one more. This one was built in between the two I already showed.

 -

The shaft is constructed totally from plumbing pipes, with plastic washers near the top. You can barely see the emitter point inside the shroud, but that's the safety tip from the can of spray paint I was using. The butt is made of two angled plumbing washers and a cap from a drink bottle. The power switch and blade lock buttons are two random plastic parts I found somewhere. The greeble on the side about half way up is likewise a random plastic model part.

You've got a future as a star wars prop designer if that's the kind of stuff you make for your own amusement...

Imagine what you could do with a sizable budget, eh?

Picard: Mr. Crusher, what's our maximum speed this week?
Wesley: [checking manual] Uh, 9.4, sir.
Picard: Very good. Take us to Warp 9.8 then.
Wesley: Aye, sir. Warp 9.2 it is.

Well, in all fairness, I have a bit of a problem. I go to the store and all I see is potential lightsaber parts. Until I found the colgate toothpaste tube ($1.49) I was all set to buy a $10 bottle of hair spray just for the bottle it came in [Smile] Fortunatly...I kept looking...

But thanks. I'm glad you guys dig them.
