Article Here

Brandis was best known to the genre as teen-idol Lucas Wolenczek on "seaQuest DSV". He apparently committed suicide. Condolences.

I wonder who of any of the Trek cast members will be next?
Ok, not a very tasteful question probably, but after DeForest Kelley's death I started wondering. These guys aren't getting any younger.

Yeah, I read about Brandis's death on another board. I was a fan of seaQuest for the first two seasons. I liked Brandis in the role of Lucas. Yeah, his character was a copy of Wesley Crusher, but Lucas was an egotistical braggert who was also a nice kid. It's shame.

Michael Kamen!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Really!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I thought he did a far superior score than the Editor/Composer in X2. Michael Kamen also scored the Metallica Symphony thing.

That's crazy! What did he die of?

NOW the kid from SeaQuest DSV!?! Funny they've started repeating this show late nights on Pay TV.

Well, why not just say "and Michael Kamen died this week as well?" It's not like he was totally unknown for anything else apart from the score for X-Men.

I suspect that if you could do searches of old DARPANet posts, then one on 11th July 1989 would bemoan the passing of "that guy who played Zeus in Clash of the Titans!" 8)
