I quite like the title of the next film and I plan to get a t-shirt soon. [Big Grin] The scheduled release date of May 19th, 2005, isn't too far away now and I'm really looking forward to this.

Picard: Mr. Crusher, what's our maximum speed this week?
Wesley: [checking manual] Uh, 9.4, sir.
Picard: Very good. Take us to Warp 9.8 then.
Wesley: Aye, sir. Warp 9.2 it is.

I guess it's official...
And I, too, am looking forward to it. [Big Grin]

So, we've got TPM, AOTC, ROTS, ANH, ESB, and ROJ.

Here's hoping the movie is good, but has anyone noticed that SITH is an anagram of SHIT? [Big Grin]

Ah yes, it is a good title, isn't it?
Originally, Episode 6 was to be named "Revenge of the Jedi" in 1983, but it was changed in the end because revenge isn't a favorable trait in Jedi, so it became "Return".

That "Revenge" in fact is used for this title, it and the Sith being opposite values to "Return" and "Jedi", carries both more continuity (they're both trilogy-enders) and more symmetry than I could've hoped for.

Ultra Manjuice?: You are hopeless.

I like it. I'm glad he didn't go for some stupid 40's serial title like the first two. This title better matches the more serious tone of the third film, and like Nim said, is the antithesis of the original title of ROTJ, which is cool.

NOt that the whole "Sith revenge" aspect has been at all mentioned except ONCE by Darth Maul.

We'll almost certainly see no backstory to make the movie's title make sense and the only Sith in the movie will be (mabye) Palpaltine himself.

Some "revenge".

Wiping out almost all of the Jedi isn't much of a revenge to you?

Yeah...I guess so...but for WHAT!?
Did the Jedi steal their girlfriends?
Did they give them force-wedgies?
Mabye the Jedi used force-enhancing steroids to beat the Sith in the galactic olympics.....

It'll be left to fandom to fill those gaping holes in plot....as ususal. [Wink]

We should just start a thread on it now....

Well, I guess that depends on how much credence you lend the Extended Universe, because there's a huge Sith backstory there.

So, someone's already tried to explain things....not that Lucas read those stories, mind you.
