Of all the registered members here, only ~110 are active, i.e. have posted in the last month.
I have pruned members away that met one of the following criteria:
Registered over six months ago and never posted
Registered over a year ago, had 5 or fewer posts, and hasn't posted in six months
Registered over two years ago, is not a Senior Member or Oldie, and hasn't posted in a year
We'll be doing this from time to time from here on out. I'd rather have 415 relatively active users than 715 mostly inactive users...

Wow. That's a pretty big cut.

I hope the old standbys like Baloo, Xentrick, Jordan, Jaresh Inyo, and Jedi Weyoun come back soon.
Posted by Charles Capps (Member # 9) on :
Jordan's still royally pissed at me for banning him in a chat six months ago.
Wey's neck deep in college still.
Haven't heard from Baloo....

6 monthes? LOL I'm guessing he's sensitive?
Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :
Woohoo! This means I can use the name Chris. I think...
Yeah, I can. But I'm going to stick with Topher.

Hmm, testing. Just to see if I'm still "alive"
Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :
Jordan's a good guy, but he is a bit sensitive. I haven't heard from him in, like, ages now. Anyway, the last time Jordan was hear, I think he said something about losing the password for his "Jordan" handle. So he re-registered under "Quatre Winner."
Posted by The Antagonist (Member # 484) on :
Hmm, unfortunate. I had hoped to eventually recover the password to my old registered name simply for the member # prestige.

Where is ole RW - Rutger Warrink these days?
Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :
He went off in a huff and responded to inquiring emails with a torrent of abuse, by all accounts. And it wasn't even my fault (I think). 8)

Much like Jordan, RW seemed to have many issues of his own.
I e-mailed Jedi Weyoun some time back, and she was doing well then.

110 out ot 715 = 15.39% Bloody hell! Only 15% are active!
415 out of 715 = 58.04% Not quite as bad for the relatively active total, but could no doubt be a lot better.
(Shakes head again at the 15%)
Boss, me thinks you've done a very harsh yet good thing. I guess that means that Darkstar's membership has been deleted. Oh dear, what a shame Just don't get rid of me! Please!
Say, with the removal of members, what has happened to their member numbers? Have they been reallocated to the more active members or are you saving them for newcomers?
Posted by Charles Capps (Member # 9) on :
Member numbers can never be reused, actually...

Good job with Kenny G

I guess some people just move on. They get busy and forget about us...
Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :
It's sad but true, Da_bang. I disappeared from here for a while because real life got me way too busy. Chris Gough and many of the original members of The Behaviour Group have gone on to other things. Quite a few of the people on my ICQ list from when SolarFlare went archive post rather infrequently (people like Krenim and Warped1701). Frank doesn't come out very often to grace us with his mastery of the accordion and slaying of dangerous firs. Jubilee is absent quite a bit as are MaGiC, Kosh, Jeff Raven, Ultra Magnus, and many others too numerous to recount.

Buh?
I know I don't exactly have the largest post count around, but when did I go into the missing persons' file?

I read a lot. I'm trying to keep my posting down to a minimum. I want to be the longest registered non senior member forever :-)
Posted by NightWing (Member # 4) on :
I stick to read-only most of the time these days as well... 'Real life' is starting to catch up with me
Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :
Krenim, you're not in the missing person file, I was just using you as an example of someone who used to post a whole heck of a lot and now doesn't post as quite as often. You were an easy example because you were on my ICQ list, then got bumped off during a reformat, and are now kinda back on it.
Anyway, yes, a lot of people have moved on, gotta a heavier real life, just like the idea of lurking, or just don't have much of anything to add to the conversations.

That's cool. But I want a little cool phrase deal-y under my name. I hope I can get one soon.
Posted by Austin Powers (Member # 250) on :
I agree with you, MaGiC.
Although I won't be able to rival your quest as even I have more posts than you. (And I always thought I would never become a senior member as I seldom post, yet read a lot).
I too have got a rather demanding real life, but I try to keep in contact. After all, I've been around as long as the Behaviour group exists - although nobody will have noticed of course as I'm more the "silent observer".

I really should start posting here again. Love the new forum colors, very slick.

Whoa. But I think I could pull off being here a long time and not post much very very well..hehe. Too bad I just signed up a few months ago. *snaps fingers* Blew that plan to 'ell.
BTW, Wey was here too??? I haven't seen her since...*thinks* Dang. Trekker chat.

Da_bang80: You are a senior member. Memory dictates that you can now have a phrase under your name.

Yeah, who's in charge of that, BTW? 'Cuz I wanna change mine to a shiny red "Take THAT, Common Sense!" instead of drawing comments on drug addiction.

According to the Sacred Text of Flare, one must only contact a Flare Administrator and ask for the status line (aka the text deal-y under the name) to be changed. Please send him or her a private message or an email including what you want the tag to say (make sure to check formatting and spelling, no tags over 150 characters [including HTML tags], no COD's, and Texas residents add 7.45% sales tax).
Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :
Or you can mention it off-handedly in a random thread and hope one of us sees it. Like you just did. But the control panel is being wonky on me, so I can't change it right now, I'm afraid...
Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :
Okay, got it.
Posted by Mark Nguyen (Member # 469) on :
So it has been. Thanks, TSN!
Unfortunately, I seem to have already signed my firstborn over to Topher in exchange for this service. Oh well, I'll just have to make like Hikaru Genji before the night is out.
